Shredder Mag erfindet den 5. Advent!
K: Okay so there’s me (Kelly) and I sing. Jon plays guitar and occasionally screams. Nick plays bass and occasionally does backing vox. Si plays drums. James plays trumpet and Tom and Oz both play Trombone and occasional backing.
K: It started in 1998 with three of us and a few years ago we shuffled everything around a bit, got Si to play drums and added horns.
K: Yes we’re called No Comply after the skate trick. When we first started some of us were really into skating. Jon and Nick still skate occasionally but not as much anymore, too busy practising haha.
K: It was unreal. The drives were a lot longer than the UK most days but we were treated so well and Nerf Herder are amazing people. I saw so much on that tour, it’s something I’d always wanted to do.
K: It’s not hard at all. The only difference between me and them is that I don’t letch at girls when we’re driving around in the van (not all of them do this though to be fair!) and yes one of them is my boyfriend.
K: I wasn’t overly keen on German food. I’m vegetarian so it was difficult for me to find things to eat apart from cheese when we were on the road. But the beer was very good.
K: That’s a tough one, I don’t really know.
K: Hmmm. I liked Hole a lot when I was growing up but I suppose they might not be classed as a ‚punk band‘ but Courtney Love was cool and she had a great angry voice. Of course then she ruined everything by writing silly songs like „Celebrity Skin‘ but the ‚Live Through This‘ album is still one of my favourites. The Lunachicks were cool too.
K: I loved Billy Idol and Boy George. My mum caught me in the middle of the night with all her make up out and outting it on when I was about 7. I was trying to look like Boy George!
K: Yes one of the big factors with our next release is that we must have good european distribution. It’s very important to us as we plan on touring Europe a lot more.
K: Hmmm not sure who the next big thing will be but bands that I like are Howard’s Alias, Captain Everything, 5 Knuckle and Lightyear.
K: Haha that would be funny.
K: Probably being sick on stage it was really embarassing.
K: No way jose.
K: If not December then definitly March.
K: Ich Heize Kelly! (Sorry that’s about all the German I know).
